Objective
Build eight complete sequences from King down to Ace of the same suit. Each complete sequence is removed from the tableau. Win by removing all eight.
Setup
Ten tableau columns with 104 cards (two decks). Cards are stacked face-down except the top card of each column.
Gameplay
- Tableau: Build sequences in descending order, same suit only. Any face-up card and its sequence may be moved onto a card one rank higher.
- Stock: Deal 10 cards (one per column) from the stock. All columns must have at least one card before dealing.
- Suits: Play with 1, 2, or 4 suits for different difficulty levels.
How to Win
Spider Solitaire with one or two suits is more forgiving; four suits demands careful planning. Build complete sequences in descending order within the same suit. A full suit run (King to Ace) clears automatically. Prioritize exposing face-down cards—they limit your options until revealed. Empty columns are powerful. Use them to temporarily hold cards while you reorganize. Move sequences as units when possible; avoid breaking runs unless necessary. When you must break a sequence, leave the higher cards on top so you can rebuild quickly. In four-suit Spider, suit mixing creates deadlocks. Try to keep runs in single suits when you can. Deal from the stock only when you have no useful moves—each deal adds a card to every column and tightens the board. Build toward clearing columns to access more hidden cards. Patience and foresight beat rushing through deals.
