legal.versionHistory1. General Provisions
These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", "your") and DeckWorld ("we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the DeckWorld.games website, applications, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing, browsing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not access or use the Service.
The Service is operated by DeckWorld. We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms from time to time in accordance with Section 11 below. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
2. Description of Service
DeckWorld.games is a free online portal providing card games and board games for entertainment purposes. The Service includes, but is not limited to: single-player solitaire and puzzle games; multiplayer card and board games played against computer-controlled opponents ("bots") or other human players; leaderboards and competitive rankings; user profiles and achievements; and related features and functionality as we may offer from time to time.
DeckWorld does not offer real-money gambling, betting, wagering, or any form of games of chance for monetary gain. All games are provided solely for entertainment and skill-based competition. Virtual scores, ratings, and in-game progression have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real currency or real-world goods or services outside the Service.
We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued in whole or in part at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from the unavailability of the Service.
3. Terms of Use
3.1 Age Restrictions
The Service is intended for users who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is greater. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of majority, you may only use the Service with the involvement, supervision, and approval of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. We may require proof of age or parental consent at any time.
3.2 Account Registration
You may create an account to access enhanced features of the Service. When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update such information as necessary to maintain its accuracy. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (username, email, password) and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
You are solely responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this obligation.
3.3 Guest Mode
Certain features of the Service may be accessed without creating an account, through a guest mode that assigns you a temporary identifier stored locally in your browser or device. Guest sessions are transient and may not persist across devices, browsers, or after clearing local storage. Progress, ratings, and game history associated with a guest session may be lost when the session expires or when you clear your browser data. We do not guarantee the availability or continuity of guest sessions. To preserve your progress and access features such as cross-device play and persistent leaderboard standings, you must create an account.
4. User Conduct Rules
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Exploits and cheating: Using automated tools, bots, scripts, exploits, or any other means to manipulate game outcomes, leaderboards, ratings, or matchmaking in a manner not intended by the Service;
- Abuse of other users: Harassing, threatening, intimidating, defaming, or otherwise harming other players, including through in-game communication, usernames, or profile content;
- Impersonation and misrepresentation: Impersonating another person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity;
- Reverse engineering and technical interference: Decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or attempting to derive the source code of the Service or any part thereof; circumventing technical protection measures; or interfering with the proper operation of the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks or similar means;
- Scraping and automated access: Using scripts, crawlers, or other automated means to access, collect data from, or interact with the Service beyond normal personal use, except as expressly permitted by us;
- Illegal activity: Using the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation;
- Infringement: Uploading, posting, or transmitting any content that infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party;
- Harmful content: Distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful code; or uploading content that is obscene, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of these rules and to take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating your account, removing content, reporting to law enforcement, and pursuing any available legal remedies. We may cooperate with law enforcement authorities in connection with any investigation.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including but not limited to all text, graphics, images, logos, software, code, game logic, audio, video, user interface design, and the selection and arrangement thereof, is owned by DeckWorld or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You do not acquire any ownership rights by using the Service.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, create derivative works from, publicly display, publicly perform, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent. You may not remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices on the Service. Any unauthorized use of the Service or its content may violate applicable laws and could result in civil and criminal liability.
If you believe that any content on the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at the address provided in Section 12. We will respond to valid notices of infringement in accordance with applicable law.
6. Paid Services and Premium Subscription
DeckWorld is primarily a free-to-use Service. We may offer optional paid features, premium subscriptions, or in-service purchases in the future. If and when such paid services are introduced, they will be subject to additional terms and conditions presented at the time of purchase.
Premium subscriptions, if offered, may provide enhanced features such as ad-free experience, exclusive content, or priority access. Subscription fees, billing cycles, cancellation terms, and refund policies will be disclosed before any charge is made. You may cancel a subscription in accordance with the applicable terms. Refunds are subject to our refund policy and applicable law.
All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in the applicable terms or as required by law. We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use of paid services after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
7. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by DeckWorld. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. You acknowledge and agree that DeckWorld shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such third-party sites or services.
We encourage you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites or services that you visit. Your use of third-party sites and services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.
8. Termination of Access
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including without limitation: violation of these Terms; conduct that we deem harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties; fraudulent or illegal activity; or at our sole discretion for business or operational reasons.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including without limitation ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through account settings, if available. Upon your termination, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
IN NO EVENT SHALL DECKWORLD, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including the validity, interpretation, breach, or termination thereof, shall be first submitted to good-faith negotiations between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, either party may submit the dispute to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Cyprus.
You agree that any such proceedings shall be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
11. Changes to Agreement
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Terms on this page, updating the "Last updated" date, and, where appropriate, by other means such as email notification or a prominent notice within the Service.
For material changes that adversely affect your rights or obligations, we will provide at least thirty (30) days' advance notice before the changes take effect. During this notice period, you may terminate your account and discontinue use of the Service if you do not agree to the revised Terms. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The most current version will always be available on this page. If you have any questions about changes to these Terms, please contact us using the information in Section 12.
